Years ago, I had an ex-wife and knew several other people that became heroin addicts. It ruined their lives, in and out of jail, in and out of drug rehabs, destroyed relationships with friends and family, ex-wife turned to prostitution, others had drug overdose and death. It was a complete disaster for them. I could never figure out why they wanted to do that to themselves?

The old chap seems so ..... empty. Like he'd be sad if he had any emotional depth left. Dope eviscerates the spirit.

Even the most reasonable ones of this act need serious help.
